Great Atmosphere at Saggart Christmas Lights Fundraising Fun Run
Despite the bad weather over 80 athletes and walkers turned up to support the Saggart Village Christmas Lights fundraising fun run on Saturday, November 6th.
There was a great atmosphere in the village before, during and after the run with thanks to music and commentary from local DJ Paul Joyce who offered advice on everything from pre-race warm up to post race nutrition and refreshments!
Younger supporters had plenty to do with some bouncing the time away with thanks to the bouncy castle supplied by Leinster Bounce while the younger kids got their faces painted in the end bar in Jacobs.
The runners took poll position at the start line outside Jacobs on the day and were lead off around the course by the local Garda car with the walkers following after.
Competitors were greeted by several waterboys at the finish line outside Jacobs and were directed into the end bar to warm up by the open fire, avail of the fresh bananas supplied by Mark Molloy, tea and sandwiches from Jacobs and barbeque in the beer garden with thanks to the Anvil Restaurant.
